California Golden Bears playing in the rain



The California Golden Bears play NCAA Division-I football in the Pacific Ten Conference. The Cal Golden Bears represent the University of California Berkeley. Led by University California Head Coach Jeff Tedford, the Golden Bears have been very successful. Appearing in the postseason Bowl Game schedule every year since 2003, the Cal Golden Bears have only lost once. In the 2008 Emerald Bowl, the University of California football team pulled out an impressive win against the Miami Hurricanes beating them 24 to 17.



The California Golden Bears have an overall record of 616-471-51 and a post season record of 10-8-1. The Golden Bears can also claim 2 National Championship Titles, 14 Conference Championship Titles and 26 All-American players. Fans of the California Golden Bears know that their team is most successful when they play in the University of California Berkeley home stadium, California Memorial Stadium. The California Memorial Stadium seating chart can hold 72,516 fans and was built by UC Berkeley alumni to honor the fallen alumni from the World Wars.



The University of California football team wears Yale Blue and California Gold Golden Bears jerseys, which fans love to buy and wear to all of the UC Berkeley games. Oski the bear, UC Berkeley's mascot also loves to attend football games, pumping the crowd up by singing the University of California fight song, "Fight for California". Fan spirit is at its highest when the Cal Golden Bears play rivals the University of Stanford Cardinals, USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins.
