Sun Devil Stadium, home to Arizona State University Sun Devils football team, is more than just a college football stadium. With a large seating capacity and plenty of amenities, Sun Devil Stadium has a long and rich history in the NFL.
In fact, Sun Devil Stadium was the home to the NFL Arizona Cardinal team from 1988 to 2005 and hosted it's very first professional football game in 1975 when the New York Jets played the Minnesota Vikings.
On October 27, 2003, the NFL Monday Night Football game between the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins was moved to Sun Devil Stadium because of wildfires in the San Diego area. The stadium's current seating capacity is 73,379 and the ASU fans are loyal in packing the stadium to the top with screaming maroon and gold Sun Devils fans.
